ANNOUNCEMENTS - UPDATES - COMMUNICATION
Weekend of 31st January - 1st February 2026

We would like to extend, once again, our greetings to you, and to provide a small reminder about the forthcoming Weekend.

On Saturday 31/1/26 the Vespers for Sunday of the Tax Collector and the Pharisee will take place at 6pm. These Vespers mark the start of the period of Triodion,  setting  the emphasis of humility above pride. The Ecclesiastical book of the Triodion is placed on the Chanter's stand and remains in place until Holy Saturday up to the eve of Resurrection.

On Saturday, 1/2/26, Orthros followed by the Holy Liturgy will start at 9am. After the end of the H. Liturgy the Feast of the Three Hierarchs, Sts Basileios the Great, Gregorios the Theologian and Ioannis Chrysostomos ("Golden-mouthed") will be celebrated. As these three Major Saints of the  Orthodoxy are the protectors and patrons of Hellenic language and literature, the School of our Community will be not only participating, but will be having a significant role in the festivities, being present together with their teachers, honouring this Celebration.

Best wishes to all our parishioners,
The Very Rev Archimandrite Gregorios, Priest in charge
The Ecclesiastical/Community Committee

Highlights from the pastoral visit of H.E. Archbishop of Thyateira & Great Britain Nikitas to our Co

On Sunday, 7th December 2025, His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and Great Britain presided during Matins and celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of St Ambrose and St Stylianos in Milton Keynes. Concelebrating with His Eminence were the Revd Oikonomos Gregory Wellington, Priest-in-Charge, and the Revd Presbyter Michail Norok from Thessaloniki.

The Revd Archdeacon Dr George Tsourous also served.

During the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence elevated the Revd Oikonomos Gregory Wellington to the rank of Archimandrite, a moment of great joy for the parish. The Archbishop spoke warmly about Father Gregory’s dedication, pastoral care, and service to the local community.

His Eminence also ordained Mr Athanasios Dedeoglou as Reader, recognising his faithful assistance within the Holy Sanctuary and his commitment to the parish. The community offered heartfelt congratulations and prayers for his continued growth in service to the Church.

Among those present were the regular congregation of the parish, psaltes, committee, friends and supporters from London and neighbouring areas, as well as Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate: Mr Pantelis Demosthenous, Mr Marios Minaidis, and Mr Alexandros Lingas.

Representatives from nearby communities, including Mr Savvas Nicola, President of St Neophytos in Northampton, attended alongside clergy guests and numerous parish friends.

Following the Divine Liturgy, a festive reception was offered in the parish hall. The Community greeted His Eminence with words of welcome and expressed their gratitude for his presence, noting that in the Archbishop they recognise the loving care of the Mother Church. The parish school presented a short programme in honour of the Archbishop and in celebration of Archimandrite Gregory’s elevation, also offering him and His Eminence a newly created school emblem to mark the occasion.

His Eminence addressed the faithful with words of encouragement and thanksgiving, assuring the community of his prayers as they continue their witness in Milton Keynes.

Festal Celebration

Pastoral Visit of H. Eminence Nikitas, Archbishop of Thyateira & Great Britain.

Sunday 7th December 2025

Dear Members and Friends of our Community,

It is with great pleasure that we announce the Patronal Feast of our Community of Saints Stylianos & Ambrosios that will take place on Sunday, 7th of December 2025.

We will have the honour on that day to be the recipients of a Pastoral visit from His Eminence Archbishop  Nikitas of Thyateira & Great Britain who in order to enhance our celebrations will preside at the Divine Liturgy.

We are inviting all to be present to celebrate this Feast together. The participation of members and friends of the Community, especially the pupils of our School with their teachers, will enrich the festivities and will also honour the visit of His Eminence.

These kinds of celebratory events are significant and formal not only from a religious perspective, but in combining social, educational and cultural activities thus reflecting the multiethnic setting of our region.

With respect and best wishes,

Oikonomos Gregorios Wellington, Priest in Charge,

Niki Beales, President

On behalf of the Ecclesiastical/Community Committee

Please note:  Matins will commence at 9am.
